FAQ

1. What is veganism?

Veganism is way of living which avoids using animals for food, clothes or any other purpose. It also promotes animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment!

2. Don’t we need meat and dairy to be healthy?

Nope! You can get all your nutrition requirements from a plant-based diet 🙂  Not only that, but when you cut out meat and dairy, you get all the benefits of avoiding the saturated fats and cholesterol that come with it!

3. Do I have to give up all the foods I like?

No! You can still eat burgers, nuggets, mince etc — There are delicious, healthy Vegan alternatives to all of these 🙂

4. Lions eat meat, so what’s wrong with me doing it?

Lions and other animals do a lot of things that people don’t do! Also, lions need to eat meat to survive in the wild — thankfully, we don’t.

5. Don’t we need milk for Calcium?

Nope! In fact, there is no need at all to drink milk other than from your mother when you’re a baby 🙂 You can get calcium from plenty of Vegan-friendly foods like oranges, beans, nuts and seeds, chickpeas, tahini, fortified bread and dairy alternatives.

6. Don’t plants have feelings too?

Plants don’t have a brain or nervous system, so no, they can’t feel pain. And even if they could, it takes a lot more plants to feed livestock than it does to feed humans directly!

7. If everyone went vegan where would all the animals go?

Good question! The animals are bred for food, so as more people go Vegan and the demand for meat goes down, less animals will be bred! So there will be less animals over time. We’ll never have to deal with having millions of chickens and cows roaming the streets and in our houses!

8. Is going Vegan good for the planet?

Absolutely! In fact, it’s the single best thing you can do to prevent global warming. So you’re not just helping animals — You’re helping people and ecosystems all around the world!

9. Is going Vegan good for me??

It’s so good for you! Vegans are physically fitter, have less weight problems, lower cholesterol. It also reduces your risk of getting nasty things like arthritis, kidney failure, heart disease and cancer when you get older!

10. But I’m just one person….?

Every person makes a BIG difference!

After just one month of being Vegan, you will have saved 33 animals, the use of 33,000 gallons of water for animal food production, the destruction of 900 square feet of forest, the creation of an extra 600 pounds of CO2 gas, and the feeding of 1,200 pounds of grain. That’s HUGE!Â
